Old Union Southern Baptist Church will be in revival August 4-8.
The University of Arkansas at Monticello has announced registration dates for the fall semester at its campuses in Monticello, Crossett and McGehee.
The priority deadline to apply for admission for the fall term is August 11, according to Mary Whiting, director of admissions. The final date for processing applications for admission is August 20. Registration for first-time freshmen will be held Monday, August 18 at all three campuses. All first-time freshmen must attend orientation sessions ontheir respective campuses. Freshmen at the Monticello campus have been mailed specific details regarding times and locations for their orientation sessions.First-time freshmen and new transfer students at the Crossett and McGehee campuses will attend orientation sessions at 1 p.m. in the student centers on each campus.
New transfer students to the Monticello campus are invited to attend an orientation session on Tuesday, August 19, at 9 a.m.. Specific details regarding time and location have been sent by mail. Graduate students and students taking only night classes at the Monticello campus may register August 18 from 5-7 p.m. in Harris Hall. Night-only students at either the Crossett or McGehee campus may register August 18 from 5-7 p.m. in the Student Centers at either campus.
An open registration will be held at all three campuses Tuesday, August 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Late registration begins on Wednesday, August 20 and runs through Friday, August 22 at all three campuses. Students registering during this period will be required to pay a $25 late fee.
Classes at all three locations begin Wednesday, August 20.

The Drew County Single Parent Scholarship committee would like to congratulate the following recipients who received scholarship money for the Spring 2014 semester.
The Arkansas Workforce Center is accepting applications for the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) grant now through August 4, 2014.
The Drew County Single Parent Scholarship applications are now being taken for the Fall 2014 semester. The application deadline is September 2, 2014. Go to www.aspsf.org and follow the instructions for Drew County.
A year ago the club helped raise over $75,000 for the hospital.
Advantages of Southeast AR, Inc. is seeking applications for a Waiver Case Manager. The Case Manager will carry a consumer case load that covers 14 counties in Southeast AR. The position requires travel and 24/7 coverage for emergency calls.

Old Union Southern Baptist Church will be celebrating Homecoming on Sunday, August 10.
Services will begin at 10:30 with special music and a message brought by former pastor, Bro. David Bostian.
Potluck lunch will be followed by a time of singing.

In November, 2011, Dollar Tree moved from the mall into a brand-new 10,000 square-foot structure.
Last January, sources confirmed that Family Dollar was building a new facility, next to Walgreens. Currently, construction on the new store seems to be at a stand still.

A man known as the “bathroom burglar” and “tow-motor thief” has again been arrested; this time on charges of residential burglary, theft of property, second-degree battery, and terroristic threatening.
Everyone is invited and welcome to attend the 5th Thursday night singing at Mt. Pleasant “Campground” United Methodist Church, Thursday at 7:00 PM. As always there will be a time of class singing as directors choose from our 5 current convention books or the Heavenly Highway II songbook. There will also be some specials mixed with the class singing. If you have never attended this type of singing we invite you to give it a try. There will also be a time for refreshments following the singing.
