These calls are being made to parents from their child’s school district.
The person on the phone states they are an office employee and that their child has been injured and is the emergency room.
Students must have their picture taken to be included in the yearbook whether pictures are purchased or not.
If you would like to purchase pictures you must send the money with your child on Friday.
I was out of town most of last week attending meetings and conferences. I was here Monday, though, and started out the day at the road department as always. Later, there were several things I had to take care of in the office since I was going to be gone the rest of the week.

Monticello will ring in the New Year with the opening of the new assisted living Grand Manor. It has 49 beds consisting of both studio and one-bedroom, theater, salon, exercise room, bistro and many more features.
The new updated office will provide the friendly, professional services, just in the newer setting.
Drew County Museum board members Connie Mullis and Zack Tucker will be the speakers for the Sunday, October 12, meeting of the Drew County Historical Society. Beginning at 2:30 p.m., the meeting will be held at the Drew County Museum at 404 South Main Street.

Needed roof and gutter repairs at the OEC building were discussed at Tuesday night’s Monticello school board meeting.
Program director Randy Lay also explain the need for additional classrooms for the program, and answered the boards questions about likely growth in the vocational field of education.
The life-threatening incident at Watson Chapel, where 4 nurses out of the Monticello bleachers saved a junior high football player at the WC scrimmage game, has drawing attention to the possibility of similar incidents occurring.
At Tuesday night’s at Monticello school board meeting, the board discussed their “emergency action plan for athletics,” which covers all sports included in the district athletic program.
The Southeast Arkansas TEA Party is again sponsoring a Second Amendment Sportsman’s Rally to celebrate our freedom to own and bear arms as guaranteed by the United States Constitution. The event, which will be held on Saturday October 4, at the Drew County Fairgrounds Auditorium, will begin at 10:00 A.M. and conclude at 2:00 P.M. Mr. Curtis Coleman, who is a well-known Arkansas businessman and constitutional scholar, will serve as the keynote speaker.
