Pastor Zan Pierce Jr. and the congregation of Immanuel Baptist Church in Monticello would like to invite you to join us this Sunday as our Adult and Children’s choir fill the day with music of the Christmas season.
Sunday morning at 10:30 am our Adult Choir will bring to you their Christmas Cantata entitled “We Have Our Savior”. And please join us for a Christmas Potluck afterwards. There will be plenty of food.
And make plans to come back that evening at 6:00pm and listen as our Children’s Choir performs the Christmas musical “Isaiah Jones and the Seekers of the Lost Christmas Treasure”

The choirs of First Presbyterian Church and Wood Avenue Presbyterian Church joined the Rose Hill Comberland Presbyterian Church coir, as has become a local tradition, for their combined Christmas cantata.
This year’s presentation, He Is Here, is directed by Frank Ferguson.
Guesthouse will be holding their annual Christmas open house on Dec. 21 from 2 to 4.

The Drew County Single Parent Scholarship Board was recently congratulated for meeting their 2014 Affiliate Match Grant from the Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund. According to Beverly Chapple, ASPF Field Representative, this is the first time since its inception that the match grant has been met.
Affiliate board members work year round to encourage and support the ever-growing educational and training needs of single parents, believing that single-parent families that are led by skilled and educated mothers or fathers have a much greater opportunity to achieve self-sufficiency resulting in improved quality of life, from generation to generation.
The Southeast District Baptist Women Auxiliary will be having an Array of Colors Celebration December 21, @3:00 p.m. at Woodson Temple MBC in Lake Village.

Thursday night the Monticello City Council accepted the bid of the Monticello Economic Development Commission, better known as the MEDC, of $280,617 for economic development services to the city over P.F. Mays & Associates, LLC’s bid of $264,000.
The problem for that decision, (which has no correct answer) comes back to the way the contract was advertised in its legal annoumcement.

At Monday night’s quorum court meeting, DMH CEO Scott Barrilleaux updated the county on the status of the approximately $1.5 million total aettlement, in regards to the recently discovered 4 year long Medicaid filings dealing with mis-coded billing of circumcisions between the labor/delivery/nursery departments.

After my regular Monday-morning stop at the road department, I headed on out to inspect some areas where we had reclaimed loose chips from our resurfacing project on East Mt. Zion Road, then transported them to Seventh-Day Camp Road for use there.

Greetings! Before I begin this weekly report, I want to extend an invitation to each of you. I’d like to encourage each of you to make a trip to Little Rock to see the lighting at our Arkansas Capitol. It is a blue-white illusion to the majesty and grace of the holidays.
One of these items was the “man on the hill” at the transfer station. This city employee operates the compactor the presses the (city and county’s) trash, after it is dumped from the trash trucks.
They’ve recently received their Arkansas medical license, and began work at DMH over the weekend, following their move to Arkansas from Louisiana..
