Around 4:30, Sunday afternoon, a home fire occurred on Selma-Collins Road. Collins-Cominto, Selma, Winchester and Tillar fire departments responded, along with Drew County OEM. No one was home at the time of the fire.
At noon, Sunday afternoon this SUV caught fire, just west of Wilmar, while traveling east. Wilmar fire department and OEM responded.
Around 1 AM, Sunday morning, a chimney fire occurred and the sale the community. Damage was limited, due to the quick response of Selma, Winchester and Tillar fire department. Drew County OEM also responded.
Not to imply that any of these fires are related to cold weather conditions, but please be aware that more fires occur during times of inclement weather, due to extra heat being needed inside of homes. Please be careful.

This huge tree fell across Highway 425 South, near the overpass, blocking four lanes of traffic, early Thursday afternoon. MPD and ARDOT responded to open the roadway. With more below-freezing temperatures and precipitation forecast, more trees are expected to fall. Please drive safely!
Drew Central Schools will continue to provide instruction by the previously scheduled Virtual Learning Days for students on Friday, February 12, and, Monday, February 15.
Pre-K students and staff will resume their normal schedule.
All faculty and staff should report to work on Friday, February 12, at the normal time.
Any changes due to inclement weather overnight, will not be announced until in the morning.

MLive spoke with County OEM Jesse Griffin a few minutes ago, and he confirmed that temperatures will not get above freezing today, and that more precipitation is expected to fall.
If you must drive, be careful, and prepare for the possibility of power outages, caused by falling trees and limbs.
