Recently, the EFNEP (Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program) State Meeting took place at the Little Rock State Office (LRSO).
Items requested are: box fans, dehumidifiers, toiletries, and essential items for children (diapers, lotion, wipes). Please feel free to donate.
The trailer will be delivered to Baton Rouge Saturday by the UAM MBSF college ministry led by Rob Leonard. He and a team of college students will be helping with disaster relief over the Labor Day holiday.

Monticello High School Renaissance is now selling Billie Spirit Cards to raise money for student, teacher, and community incentives. The cards are $20 and will be on sale until September 7. The cards are beneficial at many local businesses and thousands of locations nationwide.
The prices of the cards have doubled since last year, but cardholders have access to thousands of additional discounts that were not included with cards from previous years. Despite the increase in price, Mrs. Bonfanti, Renaissance sponsor, says, “Sales are good so far. We are extending the deadline for purchasing a card, and we plan to have tables set up at the Billie junior high and high school football games this week.” Read the rest of this entry »
Comrades of Woodmen of the World, VFW Post 4515, American Legion Post 2 and Disabled American Veterans will be presenting the National Standard, the Flag of the United States, to the Monticello Drew County Chamber of Commerce, during a ceremony at the chamber on September 10, at 10:00 a.m.
The new flag pole is much taller and will provide an opportunity for the flag to be flown at half-staff.
The Arkansas Democratic Party has submitted documents to the Drew County circuit court clerk, in an attempt to disqualify state representative candidate for District 9, Jim Hall from being eligible for election in November.
