A former Drew County office of emergency management director accused of a combination of mismanagement and theft of property causing a total loss of an estimated $103,000 from a local business, was found guilty of theft of property, Thursday, by a Drew County Circuit Court.

According to Lt. Jason Akers of the 10th Drug Task Force,Barry Sipes, age 46, and Steven Scogins, age 44, were recently arrested by Drug Task Force Agents after agents witnessed what they believed to be a methamphetamine sale in the parking lot of a local business.

Monday night, at approximately 11:30 pm. Drew County 911 Dispatcher received a call from an unknown male subject stating that he had placed a bomb in a local industry, and was planning to blow the facility up. The suspect further stated “You better come save them,” and hung up the phone.
