According to Lt. Jason Akers of the Tenth Drug Task Force, a Monticello resident is facing felony drug charges after being arrested for possessing a substantial quantity of methamphetamine.

According to Akers, Task Force Agents, assisted by the Monticello Police Department, executed a search warrant at the residence of Jamel Christian, age 24, and recovered ice methamphetamine with a potential street value of over $50,000. The drug usually sells for anywhere from $120-160 per gram and Agents located approximately 450 grams.

Christian received a bond in the amount of $50,000. He is currently charged with possession of a schedule one controlled substance with intent to deliver, among other related charges.
