Maxwelll Hardwood Flooring has been in operation for 21 years, and as always, credits their employees for the company’s longevity.
“Celebrating the people behind our success” is the theme of the week, as they honor their employees for their dedication.
Maxwell Hardwood is located on Wilson Mill Road, south of Monticello.
After months of dirt moving by city and county workers, as well as the UAM heavy equipment training class, rails and crossties are now being laid in place for the new rail spur at the Industrial Park, on HWY 35 East.

The recent re-application for cities to espresse interest in being home to the state’s new veterans care home is receiving the full attention of Quorum Court, MEDC, City of Monticello, and many other local residents and organizations.
When consttucted, the $22 million dollar facility ex expected to provide over $3 million in yearly payroll.
The deadline is November.
The Monticello Fire Dept. has moved into its new Central Fire Station on Wood Street.
The new station has 3 bays for fire trucks, and even holds the long ladder truck, which was stored outside at the UAM station.
Monticello’s City Council, Thursday night, discussed suggested changes to the city dog ordinance. Some council member described the current ordinance as “adequate, if enforced.”
Others said the fines need to be increased, since the current fines were set in 1972.

Miss Drew County, Anna Norris was one of three selected to advance from Thursday night’s prelim to the finals on Saturday night. Students Charlee Carter, Bliss Jaggers, and Alex Jones from Monticello Dance Academy won the Dance Group division and Charlee Carter won the Dance Solo division and will represent the Southeast region of the state at the Arkansas State Fair Finals Youth Talent Show on Saturday.
The Panorama Restaurant, on the downtown square, has added Omaha Steaks to their menu selections.
Rib Eye, Prime Rib, and Filet Mignon are now available, along with the popular Italian favorites, already on the menu.

The meeting of the Koinonia 4-H club was held at Living Word Fellowship, October 10 at 4:30 PM. This month, the club elected new officers, and each person who ran for an office had to speak in front of the entire club, telling why they wanted to be in that office.
