Former UAM chancellor Jack Lassiter was the only person at last nights called City Council meeting to express interest in completing the term of Jonathan Schell, who recently resigned as alderman to accept a new work position in Oklahoma.
The appointment is scheduled to be made at the July 23 City Council meeting.

City Council Calls Meeting July 9,for Residents To Express Interest In Vacant Ward 4 Seat

The City of Monticello would like to extend an invitation to all residents of Ward 4 who are interested in completing Mr. Jonathan Schell’s term as Alderman to come to a special called Council meeting July 9, 2019.
The budget committee meeting will begin at 5:30. The special called Council meeting with a follow immediately after.
The Council will listen to your qualifications and any explanation you would like to give as to your interest.
