A Flashlight Vigil be held in honor of Dermott Fire Department Assistant Chief J.B. Hutton Jr. Assistant Chief Hutton passed away October 1, 2014. The vigil will be held at the Arkansas Fallen Firefighters’ Memorial, on Saturday October 4, 2014 at 8:30pm. The Arkansas Fallen Firefighters’ Memorial is located at One Capitol Mall on the State Capitol grounds in Little Rock.

A Monticello man, recently convicted for the first degree murder of a young Warren woman, has agreed to a plea bargain of 15 years on the charge of gun possession at the time of the murder investigation.










A Monticello city council member was found guilty of “interfering with governmental operations ” in Drew County District Court, Thursday, following his May arrest by Drew County Sheriff’s deputies.
