Bryant Childs, the driver of the asphalt truck involved in the October 29, 2012 death of Elizabeth Ann Davis at the Wilmar train crossing, was found guilty of negligent homicide and five counts of 2nd degree assault by a Drew County jury in November.
The jury was unable to agree on the sentence, so that decision fell on Judge Bynum Gibson.





















In the years that Drew County has been chasing the seemingly illusive vision of having countywide weather and tornado sirens, it seems technology has passed by that system of weather notifications.
A recent list of nuisance properties, as reported and maintaned by the city property inspector, included a city property.









A Monticello man was stabbed multiple times, and assaulted with many different household “weapons” Friday night (including a beer can, a boot, and a space heater,) after he tried to separate the suspect and the girlfriend that he as allegedly fighting with.
Recent Monticello Police Department reports include 2 residential burglaries, since New Year’s Eve.
