Approximately 30–40 acres of forest land was damaged by a woods fire. The fire occurred off of Miday Rt., West of its intersection with the I-69 Corridor

Last Tuesday, Siemens and the City of Monticello met in Little Rock in an attempt to mediate hte situation, to avoid a lawsuit, by reaching a compromise.
It appears that on the way out of town, Siemens filed that lawsuit in the U.S. Eastern District Curt.

A Public Involvement Meeting will be held on Thursday, April 30th from 4:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m at the MEDC office.

Last Tuesday, as local folks were feeling the first of the “hot days of summer”, a couple of ladies decided on an idea for them to “beat the heat.”
Their idea was to shoplift 2 air conditioning units from Walmart.
