Rollover Wreck with Entrapment At 7:00 PM Last Night

At approximately 7 PM, Monday night, the Monticello Fire Department and Drew County Deputies received a page to a reported overturned vehicle with entrapment on Old Dermott Road.
Upon arrival, the wrecked Nissan Altima was there, but witnesses report the driver, along with apparently severe injuries, fled the scene on foot.

SEARK Baptist Network Foodservice at FBC, Today

The SEARK Baptist Network disaster relief foodservice trailer is set up at First Baptist Church, to assist electric outage victims, servicemen and women working the area, along with those using the warming shelter at FBC, for lunch at 11:30am and supper at 5:00pm, today.

There will be no meal Saturday, due to the number of outage victims who now have electricity.

The food and service are provided by local Baptist churches, working together, to serve Drew County.

C&L Electric Outage Update 8:00am Friday

Transmission lines owned and maintained by our energy provider are de-energized and currently being repaired by that provider. C&L does not own or maintain this transmission therefore we cannot provide detailed timing for restoration. Once transmission is repaired and our substations are energized, we will be able to better estimate restoration times for specific areas on our system.

We understand this is frustrating and causes hardships for our members, but as stated in our previous updates, please plan for a multi-day outage.

To speed up the restoration process to your home, examine your weatherhead, meter box, and conduit from our service line into your home. If damage is found, call an electrician to make necessary repairs so that you will be ready to receive energy once power is restored.

Thank you for your patience as we work to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.
