At 12:25 AM, Monday morning, the driver of the Chevy Trailblazer swerved to miss an animal on Bowser Road, losing control of the vehicle.

The vehicle crashed into two side-by-side light poles.

Drew County Sheriffs Deputies worked the scene.

The driver was not transported.

Rods Wrecker removed the Chevy.

On March 21, 2023 at approximately 4:18pm members of the Drew County Sheriff’s Office, SEEMS Ambulance Service and a member of the Monticello Fire Department responded to a single vehicle fatality accident at the intersection of Hwy 138 and Grizzell Lane.

Recently, a short concrete pole has been placed at the northeast corner of the Walmart, parking lot, behind Murphy Oil.

The pole is placed in the edge of the parking area, outside of the driving lanes.

In recent weeks, at least five vehicles have been removed from the top of the pole, after crashing into and over it.

Please be aware of the situation, when using that Walmart entrance.

The driver of this GMC Yukon was traveling between Monticello and Mcgehee, Friday, around 10:30 AM, when they lost control of the vehicle in the wet roads near the Tillar turn, at 277/278.

No one was injured.

At approximately 7 PM, Monday night, the Monticello Fire Department and Drew County Deputies received a page to a reported overturned vehicle with entrapment on Old Dermott Road.
Upon arrival, the wrecked Nissan Altima was there, but witnesses report the driver, along with apparently severe injuries, fled the scene on foot.

No one was injured on South Main, Highway 83 South, when they tried to stop from driving into a fallen icy tree, but slid into it because of slick roads.

Please stay home, or at least stay safe.

At 6:08 AM, the driver of this southbound box truck, at the intersection of Highway 425 South and Bolling Street accidentally drove into the ditch in front of the old Fred’s dollar store.

Although traffic is not blocked, a wrecker has not arrived, as of 6:30 AM, so traffic may become a problem, during school rush time.

MPD is on the scene and no injuries are reported.

Tuesday morning, the driver of this westbound Toyota Camry was on his way home from work out of town, when he lost control of his vehicle on E. Oakland St., accidentally crashing into the ditch, where it crashed into the culvert embankment.

The driver was transported for reportedly minor injuries to Drew Memorial.

MPD worked the accident scene, Reggie’s Wrecker removed the vehicle.

Early Wednesday morning, Drew County deputies, and an Arkansas State Trooper were dispatched to the crash site on Highway 278 and 7th Street in Wilmar, for a two vehicle collision, involving a Nissan and a Honda.

No injuries were reported, and the highway was not closed, in spite of the wreckage.

The school bus at the scene was not involved in any way, but was only stopped there because of the closed side street.

On a recent Sunday afternoon, around 3 PM, a local parent was working with their teenager on driving skills.

The teenager, who had a learners permit, was working on parking at the workforce training center on Highway 278 E., when she accidentally pressed the gas instead of the break.

The Toyota Corolla struck the building, causing minor damage.

No injuries were reported.

MPD worked the accident.

Around 9 AM, Tuesday morning, as the Monticello residential side-arm trash truck was turning in at First Freewill Baptist Church, an eastbound pick-up truck collided with the rear of the vehicle, causing substantial damage to the suspension and working area of the trash truck. (more…)

According to Monticello Police Chief Jason Akers, MPD is investigating a single vehicle accident that occurred early Friday morning, where a truck left a city street and struck a home. (more…)

In a joint press release by the Monticello Police Department and 10th District Prosecutors Office, a Pine Bluff man was found guilty last week by a Drew County jury of Manslaughter and Criminal Mischief 1st Degree after being arrested by MPD. (more…)

According to sources, the driver of the PT Cruiser (shown in the background) allegedly pulled out in front of the Dodge Challenger, around 1:30 pm, Friday afternoon, near the EZ Mart intersection of Hyatt and Gaines Street.

The driver of the Challenger was transported to Drew, Memorial Hospital, by SEEMS, and Rods Wrecker towed their vehicle.

The PT cruiser was able to drive away from the crash.

Minutes after 5 PM, Wednesday afternoon, Monticello Fire & Rescue, along with Monticello Police, Drew County Sheriff’s Deputies, SEEMS, MASI, OEM and other agencies responded to a two car collision, at the intersection of Highway 425 S. and Bowser Road. (more…)

At 2 PM, Tuesday, Monticello dispatch paged out Drew County Sheriffs Deputies an Arkansas State Trooper and Monticello Fire & Rescue to a crash scene, north of Montongo on Highway 425, for a two car collision, with possible entrapment. (more…)

At 9:30, Saturday evening, Drew County Deputies received a report of a Dodge SUV, traveling north at the 278/277 intersection, near Tillar, crashing into the woods.

Two vehicles, passing by, offered assistance to the driver and notified officers.

Deputies and a local ambulance quickly arrived, but so did an allegedly drunk driver, who crashed into vehicles at the wreck scene. (more…)

At 2:34, Tuesday morning, Monticello Dispatch was notified by ASP Troop F, of a rollover accident at the Drew/Bradley County line, involving a Toyota Tacoma. (more…)

At 2:13 PM on May 24, Monticello Fire & Rescue, MASI, OEM, and Sheriff’s deputies responded to the report of a Dodge Ram, eastbound on Bill Henry Road, leaving the road, jumping over a driveway side road, and crashing over and into a pile of logs, with the driver trapped inside of the vehicle.  After the driver was out of the vehicle, he was placed in the ambulance for transportation.

At 8 AM, Thursday morning, an empty log truck was pulling up to Highway 278 East, from Winchester Road, at the Corner Express convenient store.
The trailer‘s king-pin came loose from the truck, causing it to block the roadway, until the trailer  could be lifted and reattached.

MPD assisted with traffic control.
