Several students recently accepted scholarships provided through the SouthArk Foundation to attend South Arkansas Community College this fall.

Aurayia Simpson of Monticello, a practical nursing major, accepted an Omazel Lawson Endowed Scholarship. She is a 1998 graduate of Dumas High School.

On Saturday, June 2nd, SeaArk Boats hosted their annual employee family picnic at Lake Monticello. The event consisted of a fishing tournament, various outdoor games, bounce houses, horseshoe tournament, boat rides and lunch. (more…)

NAACP local Branch #6042 hosted a Baccalaureate Ceremony on May 20, 2018 to present its local scholarships. Scholarship Chair, Sheena Garrard, reported “It was our goal to provide a scholarship opportunity for 2018 Seniors who attend Dermott, Drew Central, Monticello, and Warren High Schools. The purpose of the scholarship was to encourage student participation in a post-secondary program of study and to relieve a portion of the financial burden.
