The city council of Monticello will be considering a “food truck“ ordinance at tonight‘s meeting.
We are planning to post the video of the meeting on MonticelloLive, Wednesday morning.
The intent is not to ban food trucks, but to “level the playing field” and ensure quality and safety for local customers and businesses.
“First, let me be clear in saying that I support mobile vendors. I think they bring variety, culture, convenience and many other positive aspects. Our local vendors (in my experience) are all great people providing a service to our communities. We want to encourage that, but also set guidelines for operating in the City of Monticello. This will allow vendors and property owners as well as City or State entities responsible for the safety of our public, to know the rules as to when, where and how food trucks operate. (more…)
Monticello Mayhem 12 U softball team placed 3rd in the 2023 USSSSA St. Jude Swing For The Kids tournament held April 22-23 in Ruston, La. 18 teams from Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, and Arkansas competed in the 12U open division. Mayhem went 5-2 in the tournament with the losses coming only to eventual champions and runner-up.
Mayhem placed 2nd in the Caton Classic held March 25-26 in Ruston. The team will compete next in the Woo Pig Classic April 29-30 in Fayetteville.
