Donations Needed For Senior Food Box Giveway

There are currently 156 elderly and/or disable residents in Drew County, who until this month, received a monthly box of groceries through a government program that’s now on hold in Drew County. Other food assistance resources are also at risk.

It is my prayer that we can come together as a community to make sure these neighbors continue to have food on their tables. I’m working on creating a list of the items they normally receive each month, calculating the cost, and organizing donations. Our plan is to box groceries and deliver them to specific locations, with a pickup option for others who are able.

$60 a person/box! Who wants to sponsor a neighbor? Before any money is collected from anyone, we want to make sure we reach our goal. Once that has happened I will contact you for your donation. If you are wanting to donate more than one box please list amount of your donation in the email. Thank you in advance.

Jerome Perez Announces He Is Running For Drew County Sheriff

Drew County is a place where I am deeply committed to fostering safety and community well-being. With a diverse range of experience in law enforcement and community service, I have established a strong foundation for effectively leading the sheriff’s office. My professional history includes roles as a Team Assistant at the Dermott Juvenile Facility, a Mental Health Technician at the Center for Youth and Families, and a Patrol Officer/School Resource Officer for the Monticello school district and a juvenile probation officer for the 10th district. I also served as Chief Deputy in the Drew County Sheriff’s Department. I held positions as a Correctional Officer and Sergeant with the Arkansas Department of Corrections, ultimately becoming the EPC Lieutenant as an Emergency Preparedness Coordinator.
