
D’Arbonee Forte of Monticello, a 2020 graduate of Drew Central High School, has accepted a Presidential Scholarship to attend South Arkansas Community College this fall.
In high school, the daughter of Sharonda Forte was a member of National Honor Society, National Beta Club, the softball team, the cheerleading squad, the yearbook staff and the Big Red Student Advisory Council. She also was senior class president, a Girls State delegate and an All-State basketball selection.






















The southeastern United States is home to a remarkable and diverse mammalian fauna that is a significant part of the region’s rich natural heritage. John Hunt, a Professor of Biology at the University of Arkansas at Monticello, has co-authored a book on these animals, entitled Mammals of the Southeastern United States. The book, which was co-written by Troy Best of Auburn University, was recently released.
Giovanni Santos Andrade of Monticello, a 2020 graduate of Monticello High School, has accepted a Living the Dream Scholarship to attend South Arkansas Community College this fall.




The MHS Cross Country team started their season this weekend in Little Rock. On September 12, junior high and senior high runners ran the Little Rock Classic at War Memorial. This was their first competition of the 2020 season.
