Local healthcare providers distributed 553 COVID-19 vaccines across three University of Arkansas at Monticello campuses in the first week of February. From Monday through Thursday of last week, university employees were able to receive vaccinations facilitated by Mainline Health Systems, City Drug, and the Prescription Pad Pharmacy in Monticello, Crossett and McGehee. Marquis Martin, a 27-year-old Wilmar man, went missing a year ago today. Marquis was an employee of Drew Central Schools, as well as McDonald’s.
Marquis’ remains were located on March 9, north of Wilmar.
The investigation and search for Marquis’ killer(s) has never led to an arrest of a suspect(s).
MLive spoke to Prosecuting Attorney Thomas Deen, who confirmed the he recently spoke to investigators on the case, including discussion of their most recent interviews. Deen wanted to assure the county that the case is still being investigated, although he hasn’t received the official case file.
MLive is planning 2 other interviews, today, in relation to the murder of Marquis Martin.
The elevator at the Drew County Courthouse is temporarily out of service, following a flooding incident in the basement.
It is expected to be repaired within the next two weeks, according to Judge Robert Akin
