On December 11, 2023, agents from the Tenth Judicial District Drug Task Force apprehended Amanda Adair following an investigation that revealed substantial involvement in narcotics trafficking. Tenth Judicial District Drug Task Force Agents had received a tip regarding James Phelps, who was allegedly buying and selling methamphetamine. During further investigation into the Escape of Detainee Evans on September 26, 2024 it was discovered that after being taken off of the recreational yard he was allowed to use the phone before being placed back into his individual cell. (more…)

On September 26, 2024 at 4:02pm Detainee Justin Evans (34) of Crossett was being brought back in from recreation when he proceeded to escape the Drew County Detention Facility. The method of escape was by two doors being propped open as State Inmates were working in the kitchen area. Evans was apprehended and taken back into custody by members of the Monticello Police Department and Drew County Sheriff’s Office at 4:07pm. Evans now faces additional charges of Escape in the First Degree.

On September 5, 2024 at approximately 4pm Drew County Dispatch received a call about a man injured in the woods here in Drew County.

The Springdale man was located in a wooded area off of Highway 172 where he sustained serious but not life threatening injuries. He has since been transported to an out of county hospital to seek medical attention.

At 5:10. PM, Sunday, an ongoing argument escalated into a shooting in the 500 block of Pauline Street.

Brandon Dujuan Hayes was arrested by Monticello police without incident, shortly after the event occurred.

The victim was shot in the shoulder and transported to JRMC by SEEMS for non-life-threatening injuries.

Hayes is being held in the Drew County jail, awaiting first appearance and bond hearing.

He will likely be charged with committing a terroristic act and first-degree battery.

Although documented information is scarce, in the case, official felony charges have been filed against 2 former members of the local charity funded organization.
