According to County Judge Robert Akin, a threat was received earlier this week over social media, which is believed to have been sent from outside of Drew County, threatening a violent act, during the Friday morning protest for “Justice for Marquis Martin,” which is scheduled to begin at 9 AM, Friday morning.

MLive will be at the courthouse during the protest and will post reports throughout the day, while it continues.

 

Train Hits Overturned Log Truck, East of County Line

Just before 4 AM, Tuesday morning, the driver of this unloaded log truck was attempting a sharp turn in a curve when the truck overturned on to a Union Pacific railroad track, on Highway 159 near Masonville, just a couple miles across the Drew County line, towards McGehee. (more…)

6 PM Shooting in Monticello Continues into County.

Two vehicles left the neighborhood, and reportedly were firing shots at each other, while traveling north on HWY 425. (more…)

FBI Little Rock Seeks To Educate State On Hate Crimes

FBIFBI Little Rock is urging Arkansas community groups and law enforcement agencies to sign up for an FBI course on hate crimes. This course, developed by the FBI and the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division, clearly defines the criteria for hate crimes and provides insight into FBI hate crimes investigations. Local Man Arrested for Threatening to “Blow Up” Monroe Business

GiffordOn  March 6, the West Monroe, LA Police Department was dispatched to Surge Entertainment Center in reference to a disturbance.

According to the report, the suspect in this case appeared to be impaired from possibly multiple alcoholic beverages.
