Residents of the Windy Hills community have asked ML to request that traffic avoid their neighborhood.

They understand that people are only trying to survey damage, but the traffic is getting in the way of clean up, and are blocking trucks and heavy equipment.

South Arkansas Community College has announced its President’s Honor Roll for the 2018-’19 academic year.

A student is recognized for the honor for having a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average over 15 credit-hour increments.

The Southeast Arkansas Community Action Corporation Board of Directors will conduct a Special Called meeting Monday, June 10, 2019, at 3:00p.m.  The meeting will be held at the SEACAC Complex located at 1208 North Myrtle Street in Warren, AR.

The meeting is open to the public.

SEACAC serves Ashley, Bradley, Chicot, Desha and Drew Counties in Southeast Arkansas.

SEACAC follows Titles VI and VII of the Civil Right Act and is operated, managed, and delivers services without regard to age, religion, disability, pollical affiliation, veteran status, sex, race, color or national

Southeast Arkansas Community Action Corporation Governing Board of Directors will meet Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at 3:30 p.m., at the regularly scheduled board meeting. The adoption of the Community Block Grant will be one of the issues presented for approval at this meeting.

The meeting will be held at The Southeast Arkansas Community Action Complex- located at 1208 North Myrtle St., Warren AR  71671

South Arkansas Community College has announced its Dean’s List for the 2018-2019 spring semester. To be eligible, a student must be full-time had have at least a 3.0 grade-point average.

MDA’s Competition dance team attended the Talent On Parade regional competition in Hot Springs on May 3-5. Routines are scored on an adjudicated system by a panel of 3 judges. The placement levels are Double Diamond, Diamond, Elite, and Top 1st. (more…)

Kaylee Ingram of Monticello has accepted a Mabel and Emon Mahony Scholarship to attend South Arkansas Community College this fall.

She is a 2019 graduate of Drew Central High School. The scholarship is funded through the SouthArk Foundation.

The Jr. Auxiliary of Monticello made a donation to the local Imagination Library of $5000.

This means that the local chapter of the group can soon start shipping books in Monticello and Drew County.

The launch for Imagination Library is scheduled for TODAY, May 15 1-5 pm for parents to sign drew co kids up. Any child under 5 years of age that lives in Drew County is eligible.

The Launch  Will be held in the main office lobby of the Monticello Medical Clinic.

Robert B. Gibson, III today announced his plans to run for Circuit Judge, Division 3, 10^th District. The 10^th District encompasses Ashley, Bradley, Chicot, Desha, and Drew Counties. If elected, Gibson commits to serving impartially and with integrity.  The current Division 3 Circuit Judge, Robert Bynum Gibson, Jr. is retiring at the end of his term.
