Mike Zieman, LUTCF, of Monticello was recognized at the Farm Bureau Statewide Agents and Agency Managers meeting March 13 for his total performance during 2013. Zieman received the Master Producer award for his outstanding insurance production. He also received the Southern Farm Bureau Life Insurance Company-Leadership Council award.

Arkansas Farm Bureau is a nonprofit, private farm and rural advocacy organization of more than 195,000 families throughout the state working to improve farm and rural life.

Monticello Winners Group meets Monday, Thursday and Saturday nights at 8:00 P.M. at St Mary’s Episcopal Church 836 N. Hyatt Street.

They also meet on Tuesday from noon- 1 p.m. at church .

The Republican Party of Drew County was saddened by the news this week of the death of Mayor Allen Maxwell. His service to the city of Monticello and the Great State of Arkansas are to be applauded.  Whichever side you fall on politically it is always a sacrifice to serve the people while in office.
