In an unusual game with back-and-forth touchdowns, 3 onside kicks, and devastating turnovers and penalties, the Billies battled til the final minute to outscore the Dewitt Dragons 28-20.
With time running out in the final quarter, Dumas kicked a field goal to tie the game at 17-17.
The Bobcats got the ball first on the 10 yard line, but failed to score on three downs. The field goal attempt hit the upright and bounced to the ground.
The Billies then got the ball on the 10, followed by a touchdown run by Justin Berry, and the extra point that brought the game to a close.
Mark Burt, of Warren, was killed in a logging accident in Calhoun County, this morning.
Burt was well known in the Monticello area, as well.
