Monticello Police are still searching for this man, and asking for the public ‘s help in identifying and locating him.
The Drew Memorial Hospital Board of Directors voted unanimously this morning to extend the job offer of CEO of our local hospital “Candidate One” , during a special called meeting.
Monticello Tree Board members Hope Bragg and Lee Williams greeted more than 500 students and teachers from the Monticello Elementary School K-2 classes who had gathered in the school cafeteria to celebrate Arbor Day.

After spending several minutes arguing over which topic would be discussed first, The Drew County Quorum Court voted 8 to 1 to accept the first proposal presented to them, Monday night, to continue the purchase of American Signal’s proposed 27 unit tornado siren system for Drew County.

In an interview with Jim A. Hall, this morning, MLive was told that Hall would not be entering the election for Drew County Sheriff.
Monday’s meeting to discuss possible weather warning solutions was expected to be a quiet, notetaking event.
That was not the case, as voices and emotions begin to increase.

A 31-year-old Monticello man, while visiting a friend or relative in Drew Memorial, allegedly took the opportunity to vandalize at least 20 restrooms in the hospital, taking several unusual items from the “facilities.”
The suspect in this case also made the news a few months ago for the early-morning theft of a forklift.
At Tuesday nights meeting of the Drew Memorial Hospital board, Dr. Ryan Collins, resigned from the board, due to his expanding chiropractic practice.

MONTICELLO WALMART IS NOW TAKING APPLICATIONS FOR TEMPORARY POSITIONS FOR A REMODELING PROJECT.In spite of Mayor Allen Maxwell’s Tuesday evening statement to the City Council, when asked if adding $11,000 to the cities expected expense in purchasing the tornado sirens, “We have discussed it, and tomorrow (Wednesday) there is a possibility that we will have a contract;” it seems no progress has been made in the standoff.
The issue even made KARK Channel 4, again last night.

After 7 years of surpring local folks with slightly embarrassing photos that friends and co-workers have sent to MLive on their birthdays; it’s only fair that I do it to myself, as I turn “the big 5-0.”

At the City Council’s Tuesday evening meeting, a local business owner asked the Council to pass an ordinance setting time limits for parking on the square.
The business owner requested an ordinance be passed, and signs installed, limiting parking to an unspecified number of hours, so that parking space can be more readily available for shoppers.
Around 5 PM, Monday evening, the landing gear on this Cessna 210 did not come down, as it was landing at the Monticello airport.
Recently, Monticello Police Detective Hank Hollinger received a text message from an unknown number. The message contained a picture of what appeared to be a large amount of marijuana in a vacuum sealed bag.
The Arkansas Forestry Commission, Selma Fire Department, and Drew County OEM were paged out to Highway 277 north, Saturday around 2 PM, where a burning fence row blazed out of control.
City workers are shown, Friday, installing another set Of basketball goals on the old tennis courts, next to Hyatt Field at City Park.
They expect to finish the project, including striping new lines, this week.
Just before 1 PM, the Monticello fire department responded to the report of a home fire on Winchester Road, near the intersection with Highway 278 E.
