“20 for the Future” members attended a private forum, last Thursday at the Holiday Inn Express, which was attended by all 5 candidates for the Monticello Mayor position. News media was not invited.

The Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting at James Insurance Agency’a new office at 324 Highway 425 South, Tuesday.

The event served as both a Chamber Morning Coffee and Grand Re-Opening of the agency in their new location.

The annual Meals for Seniors walk-a-thon was held in late April at City Park.

This is one event of the national fundraiser held during March and April benefiting the meals program at the Monticello Senior Citizens Center.

Jaci Foshee, age 5, of Monticello, recently donated her hair to Locks of Love.

She is the daughter of Jessica Huneycutt and Brian Foshee.

The beautician was Ashley Trull.

This residence, located on HWY 278, near Cherry St., was destroyed by fire around 3:30, Thursday morning.

The vacant structure was fully engulfed in flames when the Monticello Fire Dept. arrived on the scene.

The house was being dismantled before the fire.

Around 4:25 PM, Wednesday afternoon, Monticello Police dispatch received a call reporting a motorcycle striking the rear of the Drew Cental school bus at intersection of HWY 425 & 278.
