26 members of the 6th and 7th grade bands at Drew Central, joined forces to compete in The Music Festival in Hot Springs on Saturday and earned a 1st Division rating, which is the best rating you can get.
After the contest they celebrated at Magic Springs.
This was their 1st time participating in the contest. Chris Bayless, Director of the “Band of Pirates” commented that “these students have worked very hard and deserve this honor, and I am very proud of them.”

Monday evening, the Drew County Democratic Party met at the courthouse, to discuss filling the vacant seat on Monticello City Council, which was left by the recent death of alderman Dr. Tim Chase.
