Due to a sagging bridge support, the first bridge south of Rose Hill Cut Off on Highway 83 has been closed by ARDOT.
Repairs will begin this morning.
Please detour through Allen Drive to Highway 425 then Rose Hill Cut Off, to miss that portion of the closed highway.
MPD is investigating reports filed Sunday morning of several cars being entered into unlawfully in the South Hyatt Street area. It appears that the vehicles were pilfered through Saturday night/ early Sunday morning.
Anyone with any information concerning these incidents are encouraged to contact the police department.
MPD’s Crime Tip Line, 870-723-LEAD, offers cash rewards for information that leads to the identification and/ or arrest of the suspects and callers can remain anonymous.

An eastbound loaded chip truck overturned in dead man’s curve, Tuesday morning, around 10 AM.
Sources in the area tell us that Drew County Sheriff Deputies, Arkansas State Troopers, ambulances and Monticello Fire and Rescue responded.
No other details are available.
Big Wrecker of Monticello removed the chip truck.
On June 3, Drew Central Jr. High Cheerleaders attended the UCA Cheer Camp at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, AR. Arkansas property investors will be excited about a change coming to the Commissioner of State Lands Office.
Commissioner Tommy Land announced that his office will begin offering certain parcels for online auction next month.
“These are properties that were offered at auction but did not sell,” Land said. “The post-auction sales list has always been posted on our website, but those properties could only be purchased by mail. We’re moving that process online.” Read the rest of this entry »
