
A local businessman, Ralph Wells, has bought the collapsed building on S. Main St., demolished the remaining walls, and is building a business parking lot, there.
Mr. Wells told MLive, “It’s just my contribution to Monticello.”
The parking lot will access Church Street, by City Hall, due to safety concerns from a possible Main Street exit.




























The University of Arkansas at Monticello’s Zeta Chapter of Alpha Chi National Honor Society inducted seventeen new members during a recognition ceremony on UAM’s campus.
Samari Anderson of Monticello, a nursing major at South Arkansas Community College, has accepted a Mabel and Emon Mahony Endowed Scholarship to attend the school this fall.

The University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM) held its spring commencement exercises on Friday, May 13, in the Steelman Field House. Dr. Peggy Doss, chancellor of UAM, recognized graduates completing associate, baccalaureate and master’s degrees during the ceremony.
