Eric Chisom was appointed ad Fire Chief at last Monday’s City Council meeting.

Eric joined the Monticello Fire Dept in Feb of 1996. He went full time with the fire Dept in August of 2004 and was promoted to captain in September of that year. Eric became a training officer for the dept in January of 2005. He was Lions Club firefighter of the year in 2006 and 2013. He received his EMT license in August of 2009.

Eric was promoted to Assistant Chief in April of 2010. In 2015 Eric received state firefighter of the year along with several others members of the Monticello Fire Dept.

Eric has spent the majority of his adult life serving the citizens of Monticello. He is dedicated to the fire service and to the members of the dept.
