Jeauxuf Keating, age 21 of Bastrop, LA, was the subject of several (very brief) high speed pursuits, Tuesday afternoon, as he flew his Honda 600 “crotch rocket” motorcycle through Lincoln, Drew, and Ashley Counties.

Supporters of the proposed Convention Center, expected to e built on HWY 425 on UAM property, made therir proposal the the Quorum Court Monday night, announcing their intent to pursue a “rollover” of the 1/2 cnt libbrary tax, when that tax expires, probably in April or May.
The new tax will end when the pyment for the convention center and/or DMH surgry center expansion are paid in full.

During the opening day of the World Series, MLive’s Joe Burgess was in the press box to sing the Star Spangled Banner, before the first game at the sports complex.

When the CD of the Bahamas team had technical difficulties, several parents and supporters of the team performed the anthem, live, over the PA system at the park.

Here is the video of that surprise performance.

Former UAM Chencellor Jack Lassiter updated the group on the status of the proposed convention center.
