At the end of their regular meeting, Wednesday, the MEDC went into executive session to discuss a potential prospect.

No other information is available, but it does sound like a new opportunity for Monticello.

Local attorney, Cliff Gibson, updated the MEDC (Monticello Economic Development Commission) on the status of a pending lawsuit, brought by PF Mays & Associates against the city and its mayor and council members, last year.

Leaders of the MEDC attended Saturday’s public meeting of the Monticello Citizens for Better Government meeting, in their effort to provide their views and explanation of the recent opinions expressed by the MCBG.

These videos contain the majority of the meeting; however the land use section was lost in production.

It dealt with the process of nuisance lots being reported, notified, condemned, approved by city council, liens places against the property, land being forfeited for sale, and then purchased by the MEDC.

Once again, neither side convinced the other side of anything, but both views were well stated.
