Monticello is truly a great place to live. Every February the Friends of the Monticello Branch Library sponsor the Chocolate Extravaganza to raise money to support special events at the library. The wonderful volunteers in our community have once again worked to make the Chocolate Extravaganza a huge success. The extravaganza brought in nearly $3,000. This money supports the Summer Reading program and provides internet access for patrons. Shirley Kizer and Patricia Kulbeth supervised approximately 150 volunteers who gave their time to make and pack candy. Virginia Grizzell, Delbert Farrar, and David Anderson worked tirelessly to sell tickets. Judy Murphy was the board member overseeing the entire project. These people along with all who bought the candy are to be commended for the support they give to the Monticello Branch Library. It is this cooperative spirit that makes Monticello a great community.
