Last seen 9/1 at noon on HWY 83 about 1/2 mile passed Rabb rd at the bridge headed North. We think they were barking at the Hwy Dept mowing by our house and somehow unhooked the latch on the gate and got out!

The Fountain Hill Volunteer Fire Department  recently received a generous donation to the City.

This spot of land, just North of City Hall, was given to
the city strictly for a new Fire Station.

“We are working hard to better serve our response area. Even though the new Station is still aways off this donation is a big step forward in the right direction. A new Station would give us more room to store our equipment, and the ability to have a dedicated area, “THANK YOU.””

The University of Arkansas at Monticello football team began their 2022 football campaign with a win over Great American Confere foe Southern Nazarene University. The 40-26 victory over the Crimson Storm pushes the Weevils to a 1-0 record on the season. (more…)

On Monday August 29th, Members of Hamburg
Volunteer Fire & Rescue met on location and
within ~1 hour these guys made a big difference.

After a recent story we ran about confusion in renting city facilities, here are instructions on how to do so, for your group, family or organization.

To rent the Sadie Johnson Center, a pavilion, the amphitheater, or a ballfield, call Russ at 870-532-7029 or go by the Parks office, located south of the 425/old Warren Road intersection.

To rent the pool or splash pad, during the summer months, call City Hall at 870-367-4400.

Any request to closing a street must go through the mayor‘s office, 870-367-4400.

 The University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM) has announced a 1.5% increase in overall enrollment for the Fall 2022 semester. The overall number of students enrolled for the fall semester is 2,717, up from 2,677 students during the fall 2021 semester. (more…)

At 2 PM, Tuesday, Monticello dispatch paged out Drew County Sheriffs Deputies an Arkansas State Trooper and Monticello Fire & Rescue to a crash scene, north of Montongo on Highway 425, for a two car collision, with possible entrapment. (more…)

The Arkansas Department of Health reported 15 new cases of monkey pox in Arkansas in the past 2 weeks, making the official count 35 for the state.

The state health department website also reports 79 active Covid cases in Drew County, end of the day, yesterday.
