Food Truck Ordinance being Considered by Monticello City Council, Tonight

The city council of Monticello will be considering a “food truck“ ordinance at tonight‘s meeting.
We are planning to post the video of the meeting on MonticelloLive, Wednesday morning.
The intent is not to ban food trucks, but to “level the playing field” and ensure quality and safety for local customers and businesses.

Our local vendors (in my experience) are all great people providing a service to our communities. We want to encourage that, but also set guidelines for operating in the City of Monticello. Friday, around 4:30 PM, the driver of this 18 wheeler was traveling east on Highway 35, near Rash Cemetery, when he needed to turn around, after his last stop.
The road around the cemetery, where he was attempting to turn around, had recently been re-graveled, and due to the rain, his plan did not go as expected.
Drew County deputies responded, as well as a large tow truck. No one was injured.
