County Closed Friday, Landfill Open Saturday

The Drew County Courthouse, Landfill, and Road Department will be closed Friday, January 1, 2021 in observance of New Year’s Day.
Friday’s County trash route will run along with Thursday’s route. There will be no other changes to the trash schedule for this week.
The Landfill will be open on Saturday, January 2nd, as it is the first Saturday of every month from 8:00a.m.-12:00p.m.

According to Monticello Police Chief Jason Akers, The Monticello Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred at a residence on Willis Street last night where two people were injured due to the gunfire. Both of the injured persons were sent to Drew Memorial and transferred to other facilities and at last report were in stable condition. (more…)
