  1. JERRY WEBB says:

VERY FINE ARTICLE. AFTER NEARLY BEING T-BONED TWICE ON THE TOWN SQUARE ABOUT A MINUTE APART, I WOULD LIKE TO SUGGEST THAT THE CITY POLICE KEEP A CLOSE WATCH ON THOSE STOP SIGNS ON THE SQUARE. VERY OFTEN PEOPLE BARELY SLOW DOWN.

  2. MHS89 says:

Add failure to stop, failure to use turn signals, using the turning lane for a regular lane…..this list can go on and on!!! One of the “offenders” listed above was an attorney I used to work with in the early 90’s. That’s nice.

  3. Embarrassed says:

I noticed in the comments box you stated “remember be friendly ” so I will try very much to be friendly given the fact that this online information machine targets certain people every chance you get. Remember these targets have families who read all about it too and our feelings are hurt and we’re embarrassed by everyone’s actions. Our little children hear about this from bullies at school who heard it from their parents reading this. Mr. Burgess do you love making families sad? You have a great power to use at your will and I think you use it to your advantage. All this does is make people mad at you or sad. Please I ask you to stop posting people’s names and embarrassing stories for families to read. I’m sure I’m not the only person who feels this way.

  4. Curious says:

Just curious- why only publish SELECT interesting cases? If only a select few are published then why not publish all cases such as these?

  5. iPhone says:

By “select,” I posted ALL of the 5, 6, 7 & 10 time offenders. One or two citations may be accidental; 7 is a trend; 10 is just wrong.

If receiving 5–10 tickets doesn’t encourage the repeat offenders to put tags on their car or purchase insurance, then maybe concerns of friends (like most of the negative comments) will give them the support they need to do so.

  6. lacey resident says:

keep posting there names we have the right to know, great job.and the ones embarresed should be.

  7. Just Wondering says:

Just wondering have these cases been tried because if I’m not mistaken it’s not public information until the case as been filed by the clerk in other words they have been tried and found guilty and the case filed if not this is just a court docket and is not for public viewing might want to check the legality before you start publishing names of possible innocent people in the paper and online for the public to view..

  8. Holly says:

FFirst of all, I’ve not received five of anything, Joe BBurgess.. as a matter of fact, I haven’t been to court on TTHIS traffic stop. It doesn’t go to court until May 19th. I do have insurance, actually, and after 90 days waiting for a title I have tags. I honestly don’t care if my name appears on here, just make sure You’ve been correctly informed before you hit submit

  9. The guy u shouldn't have posted says:

Ok I’m going to find out who it was who broke my privacy and committed the felony to open my sealed records that the state of arkansas sealed. And also the fact that Joe is going to soon be taken to court for slander. I’m a class A cdl driver and this is my career. He also has a incorrect number of my tickets. And I only had 1 in the past 7 years. The others are no longer public records and are no longer on my record. Joe broke multiple laws obtaining this information and posting it. Also he apparently had an public official brake laws to get this for him. This will go to court if it is still on here much longer.

  10. Whoops says:

Let’s be honest here. These aren’t out of the ordinary or embarrassing offences, I understand some people cannot always afford their taxes or insurance so they can’t get tags, but the other things are ridiculous. If you can’t drive safely park it and let those of us that can, have the roads so it will be safer for our children. If you’re offended or embarrassed, good…you should be! This isn’t someone posting “HAHAHA Did you see what Jim Bob wore today, he looks like an idiot!” this is someone simply stating PUBLIC RECORD, that anyone…INCLUDING MYSELF can look up online. Get out of your feelings folks, and teach your friends to drive and the laws of doing so if you don’t like seeing their name on here! Remember what we were taught in school, no one likes a crgbaby =)

  11. Captain Obvious says:

Driving in Monticello is like being the third monkey trying to get on Noah’s ark…

  12. Curious says:

…..how to win friends and influence people, Part 2.

  13. Joe Harrod says:

Very well said “Whoops”, “Captain Obvious”, and Jerry Webb. You see people driving every day in Monticello and you wonder how the hell they ever obtained a driver’s license. Also, an idiot with a cell phone, talking or texting, is a disaster waiting to happen. Have you ever noticed the way people drive in and out of Walmart? When you are there, check out how many of these same drivers park in handicap zones that do not have a handicap placard or handicap license plate. Looks like their only handicap is being inconsiderate, lazy, and they just do not care. I guess they think they are privileged. If I take pictures of their license plates and post them on line, I guess I’ll be taken to court also Joe.

  14. The guy u shouldn't have posted says:

Ok whoops that’s the thing. My stuff he posted are sealed that means not public records. Someone opened cases that only the state should of opened. That’s illegal. And Idk y Joe is even making this article. Y not post something people wanna c. Or stuff that could help the community. Like the fact that the Hope Place on the square needs food and diapers and baby stuff for mothers with no money. Or something. There is alot better stuff that can be talked about.

  15. Walt sawyer says:

Reporting news events that take place in public generally does not constitute invasion of privacy. Arrests are considered newsworthy and, therefore, the press is free to accurately report them – See more at: http://www.rcfp.org/first-amendment-handbook/publication-private-facts#sthash.tL43daHM.dpuf

  16. TheManUshouldn'tOfPostedOn says:

People make mistakes. Some people learn from them. The others will undoubtedly reap what they sow. Keep this kind of “journalism” up and you will be reaping sooner rather than later. Vengeance is the Lord’s work.
