za zbAround 7:15,, Tuesday morning, Drew County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched, along with SEEMS and MASI ambulances, to the report of a wreck involving a Cadillac sedan and a Ford Expedition, at the intersection of HWY 278 and I-530, west of Monticello.

zThe store is reopen today as Food Giant – Cash Saver, with the new sales technique.

Each item in the store will be identified with the store’s actual cost for that item.  When customers check out, 10% of the grocery total will then be added.  This total is what the customer will pay, providing YOU with lower prices.

The beautification project will include crosswalks, pavers. and other improvements.


Burn Ban Continues

007Drew County Deputies and Monticello Fire Dept. firefighters were called to this rubbish fire, Monday afternoon, when the helpful workers forgot about the burn ban, and the fire got larger than expected.

The burn ban that is in effect for Drew County HAS NOT been cancelled, due to Friday night’s rain.

Please do not burn any items, until it is cancelled by the county judge and Forestry Commission.
