This morning’s NOAA forecast, which forecast a 60% chance of “Wintery Mix” of ice, has now been changed to a 70% chance or “only” rain, for this afternoon.

At 1:45, Thursday, the Monticello Fire & Rescue Team was paged out to the report of a Ford pick-up that missed the HWY 278 curve at the east entrance to Wilmar, and crashed into a nearby wooded area.
Drew County Sheriff’s Deputies worked the accident, where a 31 year old Bryant resident was transported to JRMC by SEEMS. Dan’s Towing removed the vehicle.
On December 2, 2013, a 20 year old Warren resident came to the Drew County Sheriff’s Office, spoke to Sheriff Mark Gober and reported that the night before at a location on the Old Warren Rd. he had been shot at multiple times.

When a member of the Public Defender’s office stopped by their office, Saturday evening, to pick up a file, they found the building ramsacked, window blinds destroyed, tables turned over, and files strew all over the desks and floor.
A trail of mischief led them to a back office where the masked suspect was found sleeping in the corner of another room.

When the Monticello Fire Dept. responded to the Turtle Creek Apt. fire, Thursday morning, they had no idea that a miniture Dachshund puppy was inside of one of the two apartments.
The pet’s owner, Ms. Raquella, when she realized that her apartment was filling with smoke, and possibly fire, told the firefighters, who were able to enter her apt., and remove the pet-carrier that little Mylia was waiting in.

Minutes before 1 pm, Monday, a local man, walking his bicycle across McCloy Street at the 3-way stop sign at the Town Square was hit by a car.

Around noon Saturday, a Drew County man, estimated to be in his 20s, was seriously injured when a hunting rifle discharged as he was getting it out of his truck.
