According to the report, the Lake Monticello “dam is in need of a significant amount of work.
This report was based on the situation, at Tuesday night, 8 pm, with the school board members were contemplating calling attorneys for legal action.

At their monthly meeting, Tuesday , the Monticello School Board was presented with updates on the various campus construction projects, including significant problems that will delay progress on several building projects, and could potentially cost the District a substantial sum of money.
The Area Agency on Aging has been awarded $30,000.00 through a Walmart Foundation grant for the Monticello Senior Center. The money will provide the center with a much-needed food service delivery vehicle and kitchen equipment.

Around 9:45, Monday morning, a motorist near the intersection of Bolling and Borchardt Sreets , noticed a white, male 3 year old child, walking barefoot, wearing only a diaper and T-shirt, and called Monticello Police.

Friday afternoon, local candidates and/or their representatives were invited to the courthouse to quote draw names out of a hat” for positions on the November 4 election ballot.
Late Monday morning, this Wilmar almost destroyed by fire.
The Wilmar fire department battled the blaze.
Drew County Sheriffs deputies and OEM also responded to the fire.
At 2 am, , on a recent Saturday morning, the Drew County Sheriff’s Office, Monticello Police Department and SEEMS were dispatched to Barkada Rd. in reference to an ATV accident.

Joe and Sue Burgess, of MonticelloLive.com, are celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary, today.
Joe points out that they got married the day of the 1994 baseball strike, so there was nothing else to do; Sue then reminds him the strike hasn’t lasted for 20 years, but the marriage has.
