Each year, our Monticello Downtown Network committee members plan and develop new improvements and additions to the Historic Downtown Commercial District.
In 2021 MDN was responsible for adding the large mural located on the building at the southwest corner of the square. Plans for 2022 projects will be announced soon.

Drew Central Schools will be closed today, due to a power outage which is expected to last all day.
School will reopen tomorrow as normal.
Students should complete AMI Day 7 assignments or the next one in the packet if Day 7 has already been completed.

Of course, countywide appreciation goes out to law enforcement and city/county road crews, who kept everything as “operable” as possible.
Contrary to rumors, there was no damage to the roof of Monticello Fire Station #2, near the UAM campus.
Alayna Holland, a senior at Drew Central High School, has accepted a Freshman Recognition Scholarship to attend South Arkansas Community College this fall. She is the daughter of Terry Holland of Hamburg.
