Seark Miracle League spring baseball begins tonight at 6pm at the Miracle League field at the Monticello Sports Complex. Come out and support these amazing athletes as they play some baseball.

Seven University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM) students won academic awards at the Phi Beta Lambda-Collegiate Future Business Leaders of America State Leadership Conference that was held in Little Rock, Arkansas, on March 31 through April 1, 2023.
All seven UAM students who participated in the statewide competition won awards in their respective events. Five students took first place in at least one event. Two students were double majors in accounting and business administration; one student was a double major in biology and chemistry; and four students were majors in either business administration or accounting. This photo shows the amount of damage to Davis Street, after years, possibly decades, of flooding to the street have eroded around culverts and caused the road to collapse in several locations.
The bid opening and explanation of the flood prevention project are posted below.
As part of Monticello’s City Wide Clean Up Weekend, City Police, Fire, Public Works, Parks, Administrative Staff, MEDC as well as local churches and the local NAACP Chapter picked up over 1500 pounds of trash and and litter inside the city.
The Church of Christ, Emmanual Baptist, Morningstar Baptist, the United Methodist Church, The Revival Center and NAACP Chapter 6042 for their hard work on Saturday as well. Many others assisted as well.
Supplies for the cleanup were provided by Keep Arkansas Beautiful. Mr. Kelly Koonce helped organize the event.
On behalf of the City, a big thank you to everyone who came out and put in work to show how much they care for their community!
