According to the Arkansas State Police, a 44-year-old Monticello woman lost her life, Sunday evening, in a fatality car crash on Highway 425 north, just past the Campground Loop intersection. (more…)

Around 2 PM, Sunday afternoon, the driver of this westbound Ford pick up lost control of his vehicle, as he was traveling toward Monticello on Highway 35, just east of the 278 bypass.

The Ford left the roadway, and became airborne after colliding with a driveway, narrowly missing a tree. DCSO worked the accident,

MASI responded, but did not transport.

Around 8 AM, Monday morning, MPD received a report of a few minor 3 vehicle accident on S. Main St., near the intersection with Midway Route.

The vehicles involved were a Ford F150, a Ford Mustang, and a Toyota RAV4. No injuries were reported and no wreckers were needed.

MPD worked the accident.

Minutes after 7 AM, Thursday, the driver of this 18-wheeler was traveling north in Drew County on Highway 65, north of Tillar.

He lost control of his tractor – trailer in the ice and snow, causing it to roll over.

DCSO and AHP responded. The driver was reportedly uninjured.

Driving conditions are basically the same today as they were yesterday, please use caution or stay home.

Monday morning, at 8:30, the driver of the Chevy Tahoe lost control of the vehicle in the snow and ice, as they were traveling north on Highway 425 near the Lincoln County line, coming to a stop after it rolled over.

DCSO responded to the scene. The driver was transported to DMH by SEEMS. The Tahoe was removed by Rangle Wrecker.

Friday afternoon, shortly after 4 PM, 2 pick-up trucks collided at the intersection of Highway 425 North and Barkada Road.

MPD and SEEMS responded, although no one was transported.

Rod’s Wrecker removed the Ford. The Dodge was parked at a nearby business, and removed by a toner.

Last Thursday, around 7 AM, the driver of this chip truck lost control of his 18 wheeler, as he was traveling towards McGehee on Highway 278, near its intersection with Highway 277, at the “Tillar turnoff.”

This photo, taken around 7:30, Thursday, on Highway 278 at Wilmar, shows one of multiple minor accidents that took place around that time, due to heavy rains.

It seems that rain caused more accidents on New Year’s Eve, than alcohol did, later in the night.

Around 2:30 PM Tuesday, a call came in reporting a hit & run at 278/425, where a big rig had left the scene. Minutes later, a truck matching that description was found on the UAM campus, stopped in the roadway. (more…)

Just before 8 AM, Tuesday morning, Monticello dispatch received reports that a log truck turning from a side road onto Highway 425, north of 5 Mile Hill, was stuck in the ditch, blocking one lane of traffic.

Drew County Deputies are currently on the scene.

Please use caution, when traveling through the area, and give yourself extra travel time.
