Planting a tree is a wonderful way to honor or remember a special person, group, or event. The Monticello Tree Board has teamed up with the Parks and Recreation Committee to plant trees in all of our city parks. Donations are now being accepted to purchase and plant trees in our parks. This project will add beauty to our parks and encourage residents to get involved.
Celebrate the life of a loved one by donating a tree in their honor. Donate a tree as a gift for a friend or family member. A tree is great as a wedding or anniversary gift! Recognize the good deeds of a group or organization. The donation of a tree is a wonderful testimonial to a life well lived. Family and friends will have a living monument for a loved one, and the tree will also provide beauty, shade and landscaping for city parks.
Last December, 14 new trees including red buds, sycamore, black gums, and red maples were planted in Jordan Park. Several of those trees have been sponsored, but there are still have a few sponsorships available. (more…)
