Governor Asa Hutchinson announced Tuesday, March 30, he was lifting the statewide mask mandate in Arkansas, effective immediately. After the press conference schools were notified that this announcement does not change the guidance and recommendations for schools from the Arkansas Department of Health or Arkansas Department of Education. They both strongly advise districts to continue to follow all measures that have allowed successful in-person learning to occur, which include Physical Distancing, Mask Wearing, Hand Washing, Cleaning and maintaining healthy facilities, and Identification of Close Contacts. The Ashley County Museum ladies are asking everyone who has a wooden armadillo to decorate and dress them up in honor and memory of Mrs. Annette Weindorf, who loved these armadillos! ??

Display your armadillo in your yard this month to show your Armadillo Festival Spirit!

On Thursday, April 29, bring your armadillo to the museum lawn and we will line them up for all to see. NO CONTEST THIS YEAR. We hope to bring that back next year!

***at this time we can’t cut out new armadillos due to lumber shortage, but hope to start cutting out more for next year***
