The 25th Annual Weevil Welcome event was held on Monday, in McCloy Park. This popular event offers an opportunity for businesses to join together in an evening of food, fellowship and fun to show appreciation for all UAM employees and their families. Kane Jackson, a Drew Central kindergarten student, was surprised by MPD Officer Jerome Perez, who came to escort Kane to lunch for his 6th birthday.

This is another example of the community involvement aspect of law enforcement, which builds friendship and trust between officers and members of the community, especially children and youth.

SEARK Reading Council held their first meeting of the 2021-2022 school year on September 27, 2021at the Southeast Arkansas Regional Library with a Literacy Roundup theme. (more…)
