I truly respect and understand the differing opinions/positions on the event center, the hospital, previously the library. What I do NOT understand is why anyone opposes me casting my vote for myself. I do not need an elected person to decide for me what I want to support or not support. It seems that the people that do not support the various issues are the ones that want to deny me my voice by keeping it off the ballot. Each person should be heard individually and the only method of accomplishing this is by putting it on the ballot. If you do not support these items, go to the polls and vote against them, but allow us all to make our own decisions.
