Drew County Clerk Nancy White confirmed that Bart Gregory was the first candidate to file on the first day of non-partisan municipal filings, for city offices.
Gregory filed as a candidate for Mayor of Monticello
The filing period began Monday, and will continue through May 23, at noon.
Offices available during this time include Mayor, City Council, city attorney, and city clerk.
The second candidate to file, yesterday, was incumbent city attorney Whit Barton.
This audio is from the April parks commission meeting, where leaders of each baseball/softball league were present to discuss obstacles that must be overcome for Monticello to host successful tournaments, which will fill restaurants and motels with customers.
