Just after 1 PM, Saturday, an accidental structure fire on an out-building spread to an open, dry field on HWY 425 North.

The home next door was wet down and saved, but the flames quickly spread across the dry grass of the field towards Luckys of Monticello.

Firefighters and volunteers battle of the perimeter of the spreading blaze, as Luckys’ employees began to arrive and move vehicles. One volunteer is shown using a green pine limb to beat/smother the flames as the fires for it.

The Monticello Police Department, Drew County Sheriffs Department, SEEMS, and Arkansas Forestry Commission also responded to this thing, to assist as needed.
