According to Sheriff Mark Gober, a, 42 year old Monticello woman was arrested on October 10, 2015 and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of controlled substance, speeding and no proof of insurance. Read the rest of this entry »

Chapel Woods Health & Rehabilitation, of Warren has been awarded the Arkansas Governor’s Quality Awards by Governor Asa Hutchinson during the 21st Annual Awards Celebration.

University of Arkansas System President Donald Bobbitt announced today that he will recommend Karla Hughes, Ph.D., to the Board of Trustees of the University of Arkansas System as chancellor of the University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM).
According to Drew County Sheriff Mark Gober, during the early morning hours, Saturday Deputy Brandon Wright conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding on 425 North.
There will be a special called meeting of the Monticello City Council, tonight at 6 PM, to consider passing on to city voters, a 1/4 cent sales tax issue, designed to build a 3,000 seat event center, which was declined to be put on the ballot, last Monday, by the DrewCounty Quorum Court.

Friday night, at approximately 6:55 pm, Drew County 911 received a call in reference to a truck on fire located on 278 E. just west of Dead Man’s Curve.

A group of local hunters snared and killed an 8 foot alligator at Harwood Hunting Camp in Chicot County, on a recent Friday night during this years alligator hunt.

Around 1:30, Wednesday afternoon, hey three-car collision on HWY 278 E. between the Tillar turn off and Dollar Hill, near McGee closed the highway, and sent multiple passengers to area hospitals.

Around 4:30 PM, one late September day, this camper trailer, located in Pine Haven trailer park was destroyed by fire.
