Around 5:15, Thursday night, while most Monticello residents were preparing for the annual Christmas parade, a local homeowner on Old Troy Road received word from a neighbor, that his house was on fire. He called 911, and the Monticello Fire Department quickly responded.
The home was fully engulfed in flames, and was a total loss.

Each week a members read to the three classes of fourth graders. Members share their life experiences including education and what they did to become a leader in the community.
This partnership started sixteen years ago with a goal of teacher Eva Arrington to help students understand that their community cares about them.
